Make A Night Of The September Calendar
The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas has a full September lineup. FAN EXPO Dallas runs September 11–13, followed by Future of Work USA on September 15–16. BCG Fest is scheduled for September 18–20, and Taiwan EXPO USA runs September 24–26.
We don’t have to treat these events like rushed in-and-out stops. Meet a friend for dinner first. Walk through downtown while the light changes on the buildings. Stay for one more panel, artist, exhibit, or conversation if you’re having a good time. September gives an ordinary Thursday a little more personality.
Plans can change, too. Maybe you came for a convention and wind up at a nearby restaurant. Maybe you planned to stay for an hour and end up lingering over drinks with friends. When home is downtown, you can follow the evening instead of watching the clock.
Put The Skyline On Your September Calendar
Dallas looks great from above, and Reunion Tower has several September events that make the view part of the night. The calendar includes Lotería nights at La Bola, Painting with a View, Hispanic Heritage Month food pop-ups, a folklórico performance for Mexico’s Independence Day, and Stars Above the Skyline on September 25.
I love recommending Reunion Tower to friends who’ve just moved here because the city looks different from 470 feet up. Even longtime Dallas residents can use a reminder that our skyline is pretty special. Some nights call for a reservation and a little planning. Others only require the decision to see the city from a new angle.
Either way, a downtown address keeps the skyline, restaurants, and entertainment close to the rest of your evening. You can start with one idea, find a better one along the way, and still make it home without turning the night into a road trip.

That’s my favorite part of September here. We get to enjoy the city outside without pretending summer has disappeared. Spend the afternoon at an exhibit or meet friends for dinner. Come home for a swim while the day is still warm. Take in the view from the rooftop. Later, settle into your flat with the city lights outside the windows.
